:: ประวัติย่อ :: แมนดี้ ย้ายไปโตที่เมืองออร์แลนโด้ ในมลรัฐฟลอริด้า ซึ่งเป็นศูนย์กลางธุรกิจเพลงพ็อพวัยหวานของสหรัฐ
แมนดี้เป็นหนึ่งในศิลปินเพลงพ็อพที่มีเพลงฮิตติดอันดับชาร์ตเพลงพ็อพยอดนิยมของสหรัฐเมื่อปี 2542 และเริ่มโด่งดังมากขึ้นหลังจากออกทัวร์คอนเสิร์ตกับวงบอยแบนด์ชื่อดัง ได้แก่ "เอ็นซิงค์" และ "แบ๊กสตรีตบอยส์"
เพลง "แคนดี้" เป็นซิงเกิ้ลแรกในชีวิตของแมนดี้และขายได้มากถึงห้าแสนแผ่น ความสำเร็จส่วนหนึ่งมาจากการประชาสัมพันธ์ผ่านเว็บไซต์โปรโมตเพลงของเธอ ซึ่งในวันๆ หนึ่งมีผู้เข้าชมมากกว่าแสนคน
แต่เพลงและภาพลักษณ์ของแมนดี้ก็ถูกนักวิจารณ์อเมริกันสับแหลกว่า "โคลนนิ่ง" มาจาก "บริตนีย์ สเปียร์ส"
แมนดี้เคยคิดอยากเป็นนักแสดงเมื่อตอนอายุ 6 ขวบ ในเวลานั้นแมนดี้ได้เข้าค่ายฝึกร้องเพลงช่วงฤดูร้อน, เมื่ออายุ 9 ขวบ เธอก็ยิ่งมองเห็นแนวโน้มของสิ่งที่เธอจะทำต่อไปในอนาคตยิ่งขึ้น และขอให้พ่อกับแม่ส่งไปเรียนการแสดงและเรียนร้องเพลง
ในที่สุด อาชีพแรกที่แมนดี้ได้ทำก่อนออกอัลบั้มเดี่ยวก็คือ เป็นตัวแทนเมืองออร์แลนโด้ร้องเพลงชาติสหรัฐ "The Star Spangled Banner" ทุกครั้งที่มีการแข่งขันกีฬารายการสำคัญๆ
ยอดขายซิงเกิ้ล "แคนดี้" ที่พุ่งแรงทำให้ "550 มิวสิค" ค่ายเพลงที่แมนดี้สังกัดอยู่ปล่อยงานชุด "So Real" อัลบั้มแรกของแมนดี้ออกมาในช่วงราวๆ สิ้นปี 2542 ในเดือนมิ.ย.ปีถัดมา ทางค่ายนำเพลงในอัลบั้มชุดแรกมาย้อมแมวขายใหม่ใช้ชื่อชุดว่า "I Wanna Be With You" โดยเพิ่มเพลงใหม่เข้าไปอีก 5 เพลง
อัลบั้มชุดที่ 3 ของแมนดี้ใช้ชื่อเดียวกับชื่อตัวเอง เพลงฮิตๆ ที่น่าจะผ่านหูหลายๆ คนไปแล้ว คือ "In My Pocket" และ "Crush"
