:: ประวัติย่อ :: ออร์แลนโด บลูม ได้สร้างชื่อเสียงให้ตัวเขาเองในการแสดงภาพยนตร์เป็นครั้งแรก จากการรับบทเป็น ‘เลโกลัส’ ในภาพยนตร์ของปีเตอร์ แจ็คสันเรื่อง Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring ซึ่งทำให้ทั้งคนดูและผู้สร้างหนังทั้งหลายหลงรักไปตามๆ กัน เขายังได้แสดงต่อในภาคที่ 2 และภาคที่ 3 ของหนังไตรภาคเรื่อง Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers และ Return of the King เมื่อซัมเมอร์ที่ผ่านมาเขายังได้แสดงคู่กับ จอห์นนี่ เดพพ์ในภาพยนตร์ของ เจอร์รี่ บรัคไฮเมอร์ที่ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมากมายในเรื่อง Pirates of the Caribbean กำกับการแสดงโดย กอร์ เวอร์บินสกี้ บลูมจะมีผลงานให้ชมกันต่อในภาพยนตร์ของ เกรเกอร์ จอร์แดนเรื่อง Ned Kelly แสดงคู่กับ ฮีธ เลดเกอร์และในเรื่อง The Calcium Kid เมื่อเร็วๆนี้เขาร่วมแสดงในภาพยนตร์อิสระของ แฟรงก์ อี.ฟลาวเวอร์ เรื่อง Haven และตอนนี้อยู่ในการถ่ายทำในภาพยนตร์ของ ริดลีย์ สก๊อตต์เรื่อง Kingdom of Heaven และเมื่อไม่กี่ปีก่อนหน้านั้นเขาได้แสดงในภาพยนตร์ที่ได้รับรางวัลของริดลีย์ สก๊อตต์เรื่อง Black Hawk Down
บลูมเกิดในแคนเทอเบอร์รี่ ประเทศอังกฤษ และเมื่ออายุได้ 16 ปี ได้ย้ายมาลอนดอนที่เขาได้ร่วมใน National Youth Theatre เป็นเวลา 2 ซีซัน และหลังจากนั้นก็ได้รับทุนอบรมใน British American Drama Academy ในตอนที่เขาเรียนจบ บลูมได้แสดงบทนำในเรื่อง A Walk in the Vienna Woods และสร้างชื่อเสียงเป็นครั้งแรกในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Wilde เค้าโครงเรื่องจากชีวประวัติของ ออสการ์ ไวล์ด
หลังจากนั้นเขาได้ตกลงใจเข้าเรียนที่ Guildhall School of Music and Drama ในลอนดอนและเลือกที่จะพักอาชีพไว้ก่อนในโอกาสที่จะได้เรียนต่อ ช่วงเวลาที่อยู่ Guildhall บลูมได้แสดงในงานสร้างต่างๆได้แก่เรื่อง Little Me, A Month in the City, Peer Gynt, Mephisto และ Twelfth Night หลังจากจบจาก Guildhall บลูมได้แสดงในซีรีส์โทรทัศน์ทาง BBC เรื่อง Midsomer Murders
