:: ประวัติย่อ :: ล่าสุดเคิร์ตอยู่ในช่วงงานสร้างเรื่อง Poseidon ซึ่งนำหนังเรื่อง The Poseidon Adventure กลับมาสร้างใหม่ โดยรัสเซลรับบทนำภายใต้การกำกับของวูลฟ์แก็ง ปีเตอร์สัน เมื่อปีที่แล้ว รัสเซลรับบทโค้ช เฮิร์บ บรู้คส์ ในหนังดราม่าชีวิตจริงเรื่อง Miracle ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องราวสร้างแรงบันดาลใจของทีมไอซ์ฮ็อกกี้ของอเมริกาที่ได้รับเหรียญทองในโอลิมปิคปี 1980 เครดิตผลงานล่าสุดของเขา รวมถึง เรื่อง Sky High ร่วมแสดงกับเคลลี่ เพรสตัน, หนังของรอน เชลตันเรื่อง Dark Blue, หนังของคาเมรอน โคร์ว เรื่อง Vanilla Sky แสดงกับทอม ครู๊ซ และเรื่อง 3000 Miles To Graceland ประกบเควิน คอสต์เนอร์ รัสเซลเริ่มเล่นหนังเมื่อตอนอายุ 10 ปีในหนังของเอลวิส เพรสลี่ย์ เรื่อง It Happened At The World’s Fair ซึ่งเป็นการเริ่มต้นอาชีพที่ยาวนานกว่า 40 ปี ระหว่างที่ประสบความสำเร็จในฐานะดาราเด็ก เขาแสดงในหนังดิสนีย์ 10 เรื่อง ได้แก่ Follow Me Boys, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, The Barefoot Executive และ The Strongest Man In The World ในปี 1979 รัสเซลรับบทเอลวิส เพรสลี่ย์ในหนังทีวีที่ได้รับคำชมของจอห์น คาร์เพนเตอร์ เรื่อง Elvis ซึ่งทำให้เขาได้เข้าชิงรางวัลเอ็มมี่ หลังจากนั้น รัสเซลได้ร่วมงานกับคาร์เพนเตอร์ในหนังอีก 4 เรื่อง ได้แก่ Escape From New York, The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China และ Escape From L.A. ซึ่งเขาได้ร่วมเขียนบทและอำนวยการสร้างในเรื่องหลังนี้ด้วย
