เป็นนักแสดงที่ได้รับการฝึกฝนทางด้านคลาสสิคซึ่งมีความสามารถทางการแสดงทั้งทางด้านดราม่าและคอมมิดี้ เขาเริ่มงานอาชีพทางการแสดงในผลงานการกำกับการแสดงในภาพยนตร์แนวผจญภัยของ ริชาร์ด ดอนเนอร์เรื่อง The Goonies และหลังจากนั้นไม่นานก็ได้ร่วมแสดงในภาพยนตร์ทางจอเงินและจอแก้วอีกหลายเรื่อง เขาได้ร่วมแสดงประจำในซีรี่ส์ทางโทรทัศน์เรื่อง The Young Riders และยังได้ร่วมแสดงในบทบาทมากมายทางละครเวทีในนิวยอร์ครวมทั้งบทบาทในผลงานละครของ แซม เชฟเฟิร์ดเรื่อง True West
เขายังได้ร่วมแสดงในภาพยนตร์อาทิเรื่อง Flirting with Disaster เรื่อง Mimic เรื่อง My Brother’s War เรื่อง The Mod Squad เรื่อง Best Laid Plans เรื่อง All the Rage เรื่อง Hollow Man เรื่อง Slow Burn เรื่อง D.C.
